Nick Smith is the Co-Founder and Owner of BluePrint Risk, where he focuses exclusively on commercial insurance and strategic risk management. With more than 20 years in the industry, he helps business owners design insurance programs that protect their companies, assets, and long-term growth.

Nick began his career by building and operating a scratch Farmers Insurance agency for 15 years, earning multiple top company recognitions including Toppers Club and Championship honors. In 2020, he co-founded BluePrint Risk to bring greater clarity, structure, and strategy to an industry that often feels confusing and transactional.

He is especially passionate about simplifying complex risk conversations and building structured systems like BluePrint365, the firm’s repeatable risk management process. Clients value his educational approach and long-term perspective — he’s not just quoting policies, he’s helping identify gaps and protect what matters most.

At BluePrint Risk, the firm was recently honored with Safeco’s Agent of the Future Award, recognizing forward-thinking agencies that leverage technology to better serve clients, something Nick is especially passionate about. 

Outside of work, Nick’s greatest priority is his family. He and his wife of 25 years have four kids who keep life busy, full, and meaningful.
